ELECTRONICS RECYCLING & PAPER SHRED WILL BE TOGETHER ON THE SAME DAY AND LOCATION
SAVE THE DATE: April 26th • 8:30am – 1 pm
Neighboring town residents are encouraged to participate.
🚨 The document recycling truck will be on site from 11 am – 1 pm only🚨
Documents will be collected from 8:30 – 11 am and the scouts will shred all of the documents when the truck arrives.
If you need to witness the process of the documents being shredded, please arrive between 11 am – 1 pm.
Friends of Troop 1 Stow holds its annual electronics recycling & paper shredding event every spring so you can responsibly dispose of your odd electronics and old documents. The nominal fee helps support the activities of Stow’s Scout Troop 1.

A local third-party recycler will handle recyclables. For the past few years, we’ve partnered with East Coast Electronics Recycling based in Shirley, Massachusetts. They are a leading electronic and computer recycling company. Information regarding their handling of waste and data security is available at eastcoastrecycling.com

•• PAPER SHRED ••
The troop will quickly and thoroughly destroy business and personal documents such as tax records, bank statements, bills, and credit card receipts, by partnering with a local third-party expert in secure document shredding. For the past several years Troop 1 Stow has partnered with EL Harvey. You can learn more about EL Harvey’s destruction services here.
EL Harvey will use its state-of-the-art truck for this event. The truck can shred thousands of pounds of paper an hour and its advanced shredding technology ensures each shred is completed efficiently and with the highest level of security. No need to take out staples, paper clips, or other small fasteners. You can watch your documents destroyed via closed-circuit TV right on the shredding truck to ensure your documents are properly destroyed! All shredded material will be recycled, so you’ll protect the environment while protecting your identity.

Scouts will unload your materials, weigh them, and bring them to the shredder.
Cardboard boxes will be returned.
Papers items only ~ can have staples and paper clips but no binder clips.
PAYMENT
Friends of Troop 1 Stow has adopted a cashless approach to our fundraising events. This is a faster and easier option for both the community and the volunteers.
