ELECTRONICS RECYCLING & PAPER SHREDDING WILL BE TOGETHER ON THE SAME DAY AND LOCATION

Location: Hale Middle School, 55 Hartley Rd. Stow, MA

When: April 25, 2026, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm

We are excited to announce that the 2026 Recycling Day will take place on April 25th at Hale Middle School – 55 Hartley Rd. Stow.

Residents of neighboring towns are encouraged to participate.

Friends of Troop 1 Stow invites you to our annual Recycling Fundraiser, featuring electronics recycling and secure paper shredding. Clear out unwanted clutter responsibly, pay a nominal fee, and support Troop 1 Stow at the same time.

All proceeds help fund scouting activities and programs right here in Stow.

•• ELECTRONICS RECYCLING ••

A local third-party recycler will handle recyclables. For the past few years, we’ve partnered with East Coast Electronics Recycling, based in Shirley, Massachusetts. They are a leading electronic and computer recycling company. Information regarding their handling of waste and data security is available at eastcoastrecycling.com

***Hard drives should be removed/destroyed before bringing them to the event, but we can take the pieces.
**We will be taking household batteries & car batteries.
**Remove all oil and gasoline from any items that previously contained them.

The troop will quickly and thoroughly destroy business and personal documents such as tax records, bank statements, bills, and credit card receipts by partnering with a local third-party expert in secure document shredding. Friends of Troop 1 Stow has partnered with A1 Data Shred. You can learn more about A1 Data Shred destruction services here.

Pricing and offerings are subject to change every year.

Scouts will unload your materials, weigh them, and bring them to the shredder.

Cardboard boxes will be returned.

Papers items only ~ can have staples and paper clips, but no binder clips.

Friends of Troop 1 Stow has adopted a cashless approach to our fundraising events. This is a faster and easier option for both the community and the volunteers.
